Melanie Daiken studied with Olivier Messiaen and taught at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Melanie will explore great masterpieces of the 20th century and inspire students to compose.
James Boyd is the viola player of the London Haydn Quartet and appears at festivals in UK and Europe both as a soloist and as guest of chamber ensembles including the Barbican and Florestan Piano trios.
Charles Sewart has recently been appointed Head of Strings at the Purcell School. He was a member of the Chilingirian quartet for many years, performing at major festivals and concert series throughout the world.
Cellist and conductor
Robert Max has played in the Barbican Piano Trio for 20 years. He teaches at the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London and is principal cellist of the London Chamber Orchestra
Catherine Manson is the first violinist of the London Haydn Quartet and leader of the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra. She taught for many years at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and gives masterclasses in Europe and USA.
