After many late-night reading sessions involving the Saint-Saens quartets, we wanted to get to know them better and programmed the second string quartet for Robert Max to work on with one of his groups in the summer of 2010. This group rapidly fell in love with this music and went on to record it together in the early Spring of 2011. This recording was produced and recorded by James Boyd at St Jude’s Church in London.
